This miniature ornament depicts the mood of quiet anticipation created by Clement Clarke Moore in the opening stanza of The Night Before Christmas:
‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,
when all through the house
        Not a creature was stirring,
                   not even a mouse.
This ornament is one of four 1997 Keepsake of membership ornaments commemorating the 175th year of The Night Before Christmas, which was written in 1822.
