Painted pony stories:  The list of influences this artist credits for influencing his Pony begin it with an Illinois childhood steep in the folklore of the Illiini Indians, where playing “Cowboys and Indians” was the Pastime and his favorite TV programs included The Lone Ranger and Tonto. But even though “Indians omnipresent, he never met one and had no idea they were alive, well and prospering until he moved into Santa Fe in 1970 and experience the culture, history, ceremonies, and fantastic art. If it can be said that the plans warrior in his War Pony Warrior were one – each an extension of the other – so it is my Painted Pony reflects my art in its  entirety.”
